ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Education in Ontario, Canada is based on a Kindergarten to Grade 12 system. Quality Programs Courses offered reflect students’ needs and interests. There are different courses that students can select depending on their future goals. Students may choose their compulsory courses from 3 types: university preparation, college preparation, and workplace preparation.

ONTARIO EDUCATION SYSTEM

QUALITY PROGRAMS AT DEWEY

OSSD COURSES

We offer Grades 9 – 12 credit courses based on the Ontario Ministry of education curriculum. Students can select their courses according to their interests, aptitudes and future plans.

PRE-UNIVERSITY COURSES

This is an accelerated program in which courses can be completed within 6 – 8 months. Students can select their courses based on their interests and future university plans.

CULTURAL EXPLORATION

This program provides students with opportunities to visit major cities and famous regions in North and Central America while integrating into their learning activities; including language studies, appreciation of custom and culture.

ENGLISH ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

This program intends to provide a world class language learning experience for non-native English speakers. The program lays a solid foundation in all four skills of the English language while providing lots of classroom interaction and practical opportunities to practice and learn English.

AP COURSES (ADVANCED PLACEMENT)

Students may enrol in (AP) courses which give them the opportunity to experience university-level classes while completing their high school education. AP grades are accepted by many universities and may be credited towards first year university courses.

SUMMER/ WINTER CAMP PROGRAM

Dewey College offers this unique Summer/ Winter Camp Program to enrich students’ life.

OSSLC

Students are required to write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. For students who are not successful in the test, Dewey College offers them the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC). By providing students with this course, Dewey College ensures that they can meet Ontario’s literacy requirement and become eligible to earn the OSSD.

TOEFL / IELTS

The School also offers TOEFL and other English proficiency test courses for students aiming to enrol in top universities.
